"The teaching of the Bible has a vital bearing upon man's prosperity in all the relations of this life. It unfolds the principles that are the cornerstone of a nation's prosperity - principles with which is bound up the well-being of society, and which are the safeguard of the family - principles without which no man can attain usefulness, happiness, and honor in this life, or can hope to secure the future, immortal life."

Who Am I?

View my Profile

My name is Ruth, but that is not who I am.
I am woman...
Jamaican woman...
Spiritual, intelligent, creative
Daughter of the King.
Loving wife of one man;
'Mother-in-training' to another, ;)
Excellent scrabble player,
Diligent student,
Amateur blogger,
Avid reader,
Loyal friend,
Daughter,
Sister,
Cousin,
Aunt.

I enjoy...
Thinking 'aloud' with ink or keyboard,
The excitement of encounters with like-minded others,
The smell of the rain,
The sound of crashing waves,
The feel of sand between my toes,
The therapeutic appeal of bread-making,
The aroma of freshly baked products -
loaves of bread,
casseroles,
cookies,
pizza,
pies,
And such.

I have had four surgeries,
And live with astigmatism,
Aortic stenosis,
Endometriosis,
A 'bad' left knee and ankle,
And a few allergies thrown in.
Breathing difficulties sometimes arise,
But I have a will to live,
To love,
To laugh.
I have been blessed with life,
Three and a half decades - no less.
I revel in the joy of my salvation,
Secured by One who holds no grudge.
At his feet, I am learning
To reflect
His character.
Dying daily...
Easy 'tis not.

My friends tell me "Perfectionist, you are!"
But I am learning to slow my pace.
I am focused,
Determined,
Adventurous,
Yet sometimes scared.
I have learnt to cry, and I find it helps
To relieve the strain,
To soothe the soul.
Honesty and integrity... traits I value,
Hypocrisy, an evil shunned.
Diplomatic when needed,
At times, brutally frank:
I am still learning
To balance,
To die,
Daily.

I am unique.
I love who I am, and who I am becoming in Christ.
My name is Ruth, and I am happy to be alive.
I am pleased to make your acquaintance.
Who are YOU?
