"Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth." (3 John 1:2)
I am having a challenge kicking myself back into 'exercise mode'. Actually, this challenge existed before the year started... and now it is affecting everything from my sleeping patterns to my energy levels.
My on-again-off-again pattern will not work, so I figure that if I post my very lofty intentions here... it will motivate me to follow through. I am not overweight, but neither am I very fit... and since my aortic valve is narrow and I am genetically predisposed to hypertension, I need to get moving. Not just moving... but moving fast enough for it to count as cardiovascular exercise.
Brisk walking for a couple of miles would be good, but my walking partners seem to be lacking the 'get-up-and-go' zeal as well, and it would not be safe for me to go alone (We used a path through the hills). I have zero motivation to use my Body & Spirit DVD for some strange reason... maybe because I need to be inside in order to use it. :-/
So, here's the plan. My skipping rope and I will be taking our act outside... unless someone comes up with a more brilliant idea. I am hoping that I will actually be able to respond to my alarm at 4:30a.m. to give me enough time for my personal devotion, exercise and shower before facing the day.
Ok, so now it's out there... let's see how it pans out.

I have a friend who is in great shape and she says her trick is jumping rope! I've been trying this week to do the engine 2 diet and so far so good. I have had two meals where I know I didn't eat perfectly but otherwise have done well. I need to add in the exercise component though. I'll be praying for your success!
